Parking can be a challenge if you don’t live within walking distance. A somewhat far-fetched idea would be to run a streetcar from the Zoo parking lot to Washington Park. I guess I’m lucky, I can walk or easily take Tri Met bus 63.
This was a lazy solution that deserved to be denied. There are shuttle services available that can handle the job--right now the city is paying to provide buses from areas in east/north Portland to take people from those communities to Forest Park. Add another stop at Washington Park.
Hurrah for Parks & Rec and three cheers for listening to our community!
They paved paradise and put up a parking lot …..well not this time ….a good result
Don’t get excited. Green and Novick can now put their fingerprints all over this project too since it needs “more work.”
