So exciting! It’s been really fun to watch the daily progress the last few weeks. Hopefully the crowds of excited returning visitors won’t damage the new grass by all coming at once.
NW Examiner has beat the other media outlets with this breaking news. Superb storytelling. Love the photos and the detailed explanations. Hope to read many more Walden Kirsh stories.
Thanks for the great description of the Fields Park project,Walden. When the park opened about 12 years ago many of us were both surprised and delighted by the huge open green space with a “Great Lawn” vibe. Lately I’ve heard rumors that new features such as trees, shrubs, etc. may be added to the finished park - hopefully this isn’t true and the rare “open fields” will remain!
Thanks for the really informative article!
Were there plans to add trees in the park?
Great to have Walden Kirsch on the job! I always enjoyed his reporting on KGW.
