Interesting how you're such an advocate of public representation but your article "Parking with Diversity" disapproves of the city seeking board members who are "advocate for racial equity...want positive and long-lasting outcomes for racial and ethnic communities who have been left out before."

Based on your speech you already know this- but the majority of those slum clearings for freeways were black neighborhoods! Here in Portland and across the Country!

Using racial discrimination to atone for past racial discrimination is not going to move us forward. As mi abuelita says….two wrongs don’t make a right.

You can be an advocate for racial justice and be any race. Seeking people who are advocates of racial equity only discriminates against racists.

From what I’ve seen in Portland the last 5-7 years Neighborhood Associations haven’t done much to improve the livability in our city. When we elect ideologue like Hardesty, Rubio, Eudaly and now Kanal, Avalos, Green, Koyama-Lame, Morillo and Novick citizen input is ignored. These type of people only listen to those that support their far left rigid and intolerant progressive ideology.
