David Dysert resigns from Pearl board
Dysert, who resisted efforts to open public records, steps down
David Dysert, the Pearl District Neighborhood Association committee chair and former board president who insisted recordings of meetings were not public records and then erased them to be sure, has resigned his leadership role in the organization.
“The demands of my personal and professional life have become too great to allow the amount of time needed to do this important work. Sadly, I must withdraw from the PDNA for now,” he wrote in a March 25 email to association leaders.
He had chaired the PDNA Land-Use and Transportation Committee since 2017.
The Examiner filed a grievance against Dysert last August for refusing to release the recordings, as required under a Portland city ordinance and contract with the neighborhood coalition of which PDNA is a member. The grievance was upheld in February by the District 4 Coalition of neighborhood associations, but even after that decision, Dysert refused to release the recordings.
Volunteers at NA’s don’t have the time or energy to put up with your crap Allan. NA’s are essentially powerless groups….not sure why you think otherwise. They’re volunteering to help their neighborhood and here you are harassing them. Are you a Chloe Eudaly fan?
Great job, Allan. I don’t know this gentleman…but clearly, clearly, his approach to non-disclosure of public records was not in keeping with what we expect from our public/deliberative bodies. Thank you for pursuing this issue.
