At this point, what can be done to remove the Mayor from office?
Is there an impeachment provision in the City of Portland charter? Does impeachment begin in Council or in petitions? The lies and secrecy have got to stop, and the only way to prevent further lies and secret agreements is to impeach Mayor Wilson. That will deter others from trying these moves later: lie and make secret meetings? Get impeached.
Seriously Richard, most of them don't WANT to have a clue about the livability issues of the middle class. They're too busy virtue-signaling for the "oppressed" and the "historically marginalized communities" they claim they represent. Many of these clowns have developed grandstanding and political theater to an art form, and hardworking, middle class folks are simply the audience that gets to pay for their (poor)performance.
Tonight’s meeting at The Armory is going to be unfortunate timing for DA Vasquez and Chief Day as I’m sure neither were aware of this change and will have to manage a lot of angry attendees. So now the mayor, who broke promises about support for the shelter is breaking another promise…and we will have even less resources to deal with the criminal acts that are now present regularly since the shelter opened. I can imagine Zimmerman and Clark are similarly dismayed.
I don’t expect the mayor would have the courage to come to the meeting tonight but would love it if he did. Not that he’d listen but I’d be curious to hear the excuses.
The neighborhood association has worked so hard on neighborhood revitalization, and this on top of all of the cleaning and security that the neighborhood has had to support on their own. I love seeing the farmers market do so well and believe that the association will do everything they can to keep from backsliding further, but this should not be so hard.
Our City's reputation is not going to recover when we have elected officials like we do now. The disrespect we feel must be responded to by voting them out. The Mayor and the City Counsel deserve to be pieketed. They act like KINGS
Because I suspect these positions are for show - the current administration has zero interest in hearing what the public has to say unless they fit into one of the narrow activist/non profit contingents that seem to run the city. And by run, I mean into the ground.
Maybe they should just cut these positions since I’m sure they don’t do anything, like half the administrative positions in Portland government.
Low barrier shelters enable addicts to be addicts. They do nothing to help anyone, and certainly do not belong in any neighborhoods. Mayor Wilson needs to start thinking about law abiding citizens rather than bending over backwards to enable homeless addicts.

Except a lot of the City Council is as bad or worse than Mayor Wilson.
Can you imagine Rene Gonzales doing this kind of stunt?
No, that’s why I voted for Rene. Unfortunately voters here never learn.
Portland City government obviously does not have a CLUE about the realities and needs of the residents and the business owners in the Pearl District.

Thanks, Allan, for the timely news.

Seriously need to consider recalling Wilson...he just doesn't get it and doesn't want to.
The city has 37 public engagement personnel. Why aren’t they being used to engage the public, especially on matters of clearly known public concern.

Are there security issues with Blanche House women’s shelter on 17th?
