Portland Parks & Recreation has proposed a “nature patch” landscaping project to address drainage problems in the northern half of Wallace Park. As the photo shows, mud often covers the sidewalk along Northwest Raleigh Street. Parks is considering input from both the Northwest District Association and Friends of Wallace Park, groups that have not, however, met or come to an agreement on what they want to see in the nature patch or even if they want the project at all.
The project is funded by an $180,000 grant received by the Bureau of Environmental Services that is managed by PP&R.
Do we really care about the environment in Portland, OR anymore?
Might was well not waste the money until we can stop unsanctioned camping.
