Allan Classen diligently attends and reports on multiple Neighborhood Association meetings. Sometimes, he has conflicting meetings. Even when attending a meeting , note taking can be challenging. I know I was the PDNA Secretary. Recordings are a very useful tool when you need to clarify something in your notes to ensure accuracy. Why would anyone who is behaving appropriately and any body that is conducting their work in compliance with the rules and regulations be concerned about sharing meeting recordings?
Past minutes have omitted hints of controversy, and Burke said yesterday she prefers including the minimum information permissible--motions passed, people attending. Minutes of this type don't need a transcript to prepare.
I don't know when or where these meetings take place,, but if I had a schedule perhaps I could show up. At 82 years of age, I no longer drive after dark, so that would limit the time I could be available. However, I would like to attend some of these meetings just to learn what they talk abou and what their concerns are. It's possible that I could coerce my son or daughter-in-law to attend these meetings with me, mainly so I could get a ride both ways. They are both civic minded adults so I don't think it would take too much prodding to get them there. Please send me the info for meetings, time and place. I am a current member of the Panavista Paek Homeoners Association, as are both my kids. They are both over 50 and don't think they'd be too obstructive at a meeting. Thanks do much.
The OTCA meetings are held monthly 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. They are on zoom and in person. Visit https://www.pdxoldtown.org/ for details.
Independent eyes are valuable. Most who attend have specific reasons and connections, and participants may not be aware of "how others see us," as Robert Burns would say.
These meetings are all open to the public. If you’re concerned about what is happening just show up!

Mary,
I'd suggest you ask Jessie Burke…she's a beleaguered small business owner in lawless Old Town……got to be a tough gig huh?
Those minutes the "secretary" types up had better be full-on transcripts then! That is so weird for someone in her position to do.
