Another poorly designed intersection that places cyclists in harms way is Burnside at 16th. This makes the cyclist jog around cars and travel against traffic heading south on 16th.
Why o why didn't pbot use the ample realestate on 15th to build a protected bike lane heading South crossing Burnside.
At this same intersection, pedestrians crossing SW 19th Avenue are exposed to a dangerous conflict with vehicles turning right from Burnside onto Alder. Although there are marked zebra crosswalks both north and south of Alder, they do not protect people walking east along Burnside. This creates a hazardous and confusing crossing situation for pedestrians.
