I know Joshua Leake. He is a great guy, and cares about his community. I'm the bldg super of a condo bldg at NW 16th & W. Burnside.
I know some homeless (yes, that is PC-incorrect term, but I don't give a damn) by name, and help in any way I can. But I've been threatened with physical violence several times, by evil people living on the streets.
Sad story and nicely written. But it won't fit the Social Justice Warrior narrative that all of our homeless, addicted and mentally ill street people are locals who simply can't afford housing because of greedy landlords and "end stage capitalism". So many of the homeless I've met turn out to NOT be from Portland, just as John Moreno isn't.
I like your post, and understand the nuance.

I agree 200%. Living the exact center of this dystopia for nearly 13 yrs, I think I have earned the right to say that you have NAILED IT!
